Description
AQUAPHOR S800 Whole House Water Softener
AQUAPHOR S800 is a high-performance whole house water softener designed to reduce hard water, limescale, dissolved iron and manganese in domestic and light commercial installations.
It is suitable for homes and small business premises such as cafés, bars, offices, gyms, beauty salons, clinics, workshops and small hospitality locations where water quality directly affects plumbing, boilers, taps, showers, coffee machines, washing equipment and other water-using appliances.
For plumbers and installers, AQUAPHOR S800 is a practical whole-house softener option for customers who need more than basic limescale protection, especially where dissolved iron or manganese are also present in the source water.
Why choose AQUAPHOR S800?
- Whole house hard water protection: treats water at the property inlet to help protect multiple points of use, including bathrooms, kitchens, boilers, laundry equipment and appliances.
- High iron and manganese reduction: designed to reduce dissolved iron and manganese when the incoming water meets the manufacturer’s operating requirements.
- Lower salt consumption: AQUAPHOR states that the S800 requires up to 30% less salt compared with conventional softeners, thanks to its efficient tank design and fine ion exchange resin.
- Reduced water waste: the patented Dual Core Valve system helps reduce water consumption during regeneration, using up to 5 times less water than traditional systems in comparable applications.
- Metered intelligent regeneration: regeneration is controlled by actual water consumption, helping the system operate efficiently according to real demand.
- Compact cabinet design: the cabinet format keeps the system neat, protected and suitable for professional-looking installations in plant rooms, utility rooms and service spaces.
- Built-in bypass valve: supplied with a bypass valve for easier installation, maintenance and service work.
Ideal for homes and small businesses
AQUAPHOR S800 is suitable for installations where hard water, limescale and dissolved iron can increase maintenance costs, reduce equipment efficiency or shorten appliance life.
- Homes: helps reduce limescale on taps, showers, glass, boilers, washing machines, dishwashers and plumbing fixtures.
- Cafés and bars: helps protect coffee machines, glass washers, dishwashers, ice makers and hot water systems.
- Offices: useful for kitchens, washrooms, boilers and shared appliance areas.
- Gyms and wellness spaces: helps reduce scale build-up in showers, heaters, taps and water-fed equipment.
- Beauty salons and hairdressers: helps protect wash basins, water heaters, taps and professional equipment from scale and iron-related deposits.
- Plumbers and installers: a strong option for customers who need whole-property softening with additional dissolved iron and manganese reduction.
Protection against limescale and equipment wear
Hard water can leave scale deposits inside pipes, boilers, heat exchangers, taps, shower heads, washing machines, dishwashers and professional water-using equipment. Over time, this can reduce efficiency, increase cleaning needs and lead to more frequent maintenance.
By reducing hardness, AQUAPHOR S800 helps:
- limit limescale build-up in plumbing and appliances;
- support better boiler and hot water system efficiency;
- reduce cleaning and descaling work on taps, showers and glass;
- protect coffee machines, dishwashers, washing equipment and salon appliances;
- improve day-to-day water management in homes and small businesses.
Iron and manganese reduction
AQUAPHOR S800 is designed for water where hardness is combined with dissolved iron or manganese. This is especially useful in properties using well water or water supplies where iron staining, metallic taste, dark deposits or manganese-related marks may occur.
Important: the system is intended for dissolved iron and manganese within the manufacturer’s water quality limits. It does not remove colloidal iron or iron contained in organic complexes. Source water should be tested before installation.

Source water requirements
For correct performance, the incoming water must be within the manufacturer’s operating limits. Before installation, test the water for hardness, dissolved iron, ferric iron, manganese, pH, pressure and flow rate.
- Water hardness: within the maximum compensated hardness specified by the manufacturer
- Divalent dissolved iron: within manufacturer limits
- Ferric iron: not more than 0.3 mg/L
- Manganese: within manufacturer limits
- pH: 6 to 9
- Water temperature: +5°C to +38°C
If the water contains sand, sediment, suspended solids, ferric iron or mechanical impurities, a suitable pre-filter may be required before the softener.
Installation note for plumbers and installers
Installation should be carried out by a qualified plumber or water treatment specialist in accordance with local plumbing regulations. Correct sizing, source water testing, drain connection, bypass installation and controller setup are important for reliable operation.
The built-in controller uses water consumption data to start regeneration automatically. Settings should be configured according to the water hardness, iron level, manganese level and real water usage of the property.

Related alternatives
Not sure whether you need a whole-house water softener?
If you mainly need better water for drinking, cooking or one specific tap, an under-sink filter or reverse osmosis system may be more suitable. These systems do not replace a whole-house softener, but they can be a practical solution for kitchens, offices, cafés and small professional spaces.
Aquaphor Crystal H under-counter water filter with softening
A compact under-sink system with a softening cartridge. Recommended when the main goal is better water for drinking and cooking at the kitchen tap.
RO400 direct-flow tankless reverse osmosis system 400 GPD
A high-flow tankless reverse osmosis system for drinking water. Suitable for homes, offices, cafés and small businesses that need purified water without a storage tank.
Tip: choose the AQUAPHOR S800 when you want whole-property limescale protection and dissolved iron/manganese reduction. Choose an under-sink filter or reverse osmosis system when you mainly need better drinking water at one tap.
