The communication distance is another decisive factor in the purchase and use of a CB antenna. Thus, the communication distance of 10 km is achieved in ideal working conditions: calibrated antenna, open field without obstacles, the station with the maximum legally allowed power of 4W and with a standard reception. Any obstacle such as: hills, mountains, buildings, walls can lead to a decrease in this distance.

Antenna length

The length of the antenna is another very important factor that can influence the communication distance in traffic. Thus, the longer the antenna, the greater the range. The PNI S60 antenna has a length of 59 cm.

The cable length is 4 m, allowing you to mount the antenna wherever it is convenient for you on the vehicle and still have enough time to make the connection to the CB radio station.

Adjustable angle

This antenna can be tilted using the included thumbscrew to enter low-height passages, garages, or parking lots. Outside of these situations, a tilt greater than 30 degrees is not recommended as it may affect the antenna’s performance.
