Aquaphor Crystal KH and PRO KH Cartridges are designed with a blend of premium ion-exchange resins that effectively remove limescale via ion exchange. Over time, as the cartridge is used, the resin will gradually become saturated with limescale deposits.

Regeneration is straightforward and can be done using common table salt.

To regenerate the resin:

1. Mix water with a generous amount of salt in a clean, standard plastic bottle with the bottom removed to serve as a funnel.
2.  Attach the bottle to the pre-assembled adapter.
3.  Connect this setup to your KH cartridge.
4.  Pump the saline solution through the cartridge to dissolve and remove the limescale buildup.

Recovery frequency depends on the initial hardness of your water. The KH softening cartridge, with its ion-exchange resin, is ideal for water with moderate to average hardness. For water hardness levels exceeding 5 mEq/L, the use of a reverse osmosis water filter is advisable for optimal results.
